Andrew and Madison's wedding day was simply beautiful. They were married at Faith Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina, and because that's about four hours from Raleigh, I hadn't spent time with both of them before the wedding day (aside from our one Zoom planning call). So I didn't know much at all about their story or relationship and was interested to hear more. Evidently Grandma and Grandpa had quite a bit to do with this! During the wedding ceremony, Madison's grandpa reflected on a past journal entry from when he first met Andrew. They were on a trip serving together in Canada. Her grandpa is actually the one that suggested Madison for Andrew. They started communicating, and now just about a year later, they are husband and wife.
It's always special for me to get to document a truly Christ-centered wedding day. It struck me how often their loved ones stopped and prayed for them throughout the day. I loved when Madison's mom was praying with the bridesmaids before the ceremony, and she mentioned how marriage is a picture of far greater things. The ceremony music was just beautiful. Madison walked down the aisle to The King of Love, My Shepherd Is, and the swell of the strings, piano, and organ had even me getting a bit emotional (weddings hit differently now that I have girls of my own). The unique military touches were special to photograph too (Andrew is a recent West Point graduate). And all the choices from the bride's dress and hair, florals, wedding party attire, jewelry, shoes - all of it just felt elegant and timeless.
Congrats on your first day of marriage, Andrew and Madison! Enjoy these sneaks from your day.
We drove over to Furman University for bride and groom and bridal party portraits.
